Also known as boreal forest or snowforest, the Taiga biome is characterized as having many coniferous forests, consisting of various species of plants, mammals, insects, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. It is the largest biome in the world and covers most of the Northern Hemisphere, including regions such as Alaska, Russia, Canada, Iceland, and Scandinavia.
